Blackish on White
While some of these patterns are strictly black floss on white cloth, most have anywhere from 3 to 5 colors. These added grays and olives add to the texture of the piece that cannot be captured with just black.
These patterns are great for beginners as there aren't an overwhelming number of colors scattered throughout the piece, with large blocks of single colors.
For blacker blacks and better coverage, please consider using 3 or 4 strands of floss rather than the traditional 2 strands.
