Custom Designs for Christmas and MORE! October 30 2018, 0 Comments

Okay, I know I'm supposed to say "Holidays" instead of "Christmas", but this post is specifically about Custom Christmas Tree ornaments. Like this:

This was a custom piece I did for a customer whose father had long since passed. It's "framed" in the same hoop in which is was stitched, this one being 6" if I recall correctly.

Got a family relative or pet you'd like memorialized? Have an idea for an ornament that you just can't find anywhere? Hit me up at peteseazle@gmail.com and let's make it happen!

Or, if you just want some funny 3-inch designs, check out my Threezles and Celebrity Threezles. These are all framed in the 3-inch hoop in which it's stitched (based on 14-count Aida).

It's always fun to spend the holidays with:

 and

Or even:

Or you could go traditional with this one:

Or again, not traditional, with any of these:

I think you get it.

Happy holidays!

Custom Designs April 04 2018, 0 Comments

One of my favorite things about running CrassCross.com is the opportunity to work directly with my customers on pieces meaningful to them. Sure, they may have come for something already in my store to begin with. But some come back again, this time wanting something specifically for them. Something special that will, I like to think, maybe become a family heirloom.

That's why I do custom designs.

I've done dogs (both alive and since passed), family members (both alive and since passed), children, parents, birth and wedding announcements, risque selfies, sunsets, cars, and cats (both alive and since passed).

One of my favorites was for a regular customer, let's call her "Rachel" because her name is Rachel, who wanted a Christmas ornament featuring her departed father, a cop in uniform. She wanted to hang it on the tree every year so he would never miss the holiday. What a great idea, I thought.

We tried to fit the image in a 3" or 4" hoop, but the clarity wasn't good enough. Some pictures work, some don't. But at 6", Rachel got a nice fat ornament that will forever garnish their tree.

To close, I can do this for you, too. Just email me at peteseazle@gmail.com and let me know what you want. Please send a picture and specify desired cloth color and size to get the ball rolling. As with Rachel and her dad, I'll gladly work with you to make the best keepsake.

I look forward to hearing from you!

What's New at CrassCross - March 27, 2018 March 27 2018, 0 Comments

As I've mentioned before, I tend to design most of my charts for black aida cloth, maximizing the use of negative space. I'd mentioned that I was going to work towards adding more projects on white aida cloth, which I have been working on diligently. You can find a whole collection of mostly black(ish) on white here. I say "black(ish)" because most of these pieces are anywhere from 3-5 colors and include the ol' 310 black as well as various shades of gray and olive. I find these others soften the edges of strictly black on white. You be the judge!

Many of you have been asking for more pieces similar to "Bondage". There are now 10 bondage pieces and I've even put them in their own category: BDSM/NSFW. Check back often as I'll continue to add similar pieces as long as you keep asking for them.

It's also come to my attention that I have many patterns focused around either skeletons or death. So, you guessed it, there's a new sections called "Skeletons/Death".

Lastly, if you're looking for a new project, but have no idea where to start, I've created a section just for you. My new "Best Sellers" section is just that: a source for what's popular at CrassCross lately.

As always, please feel free to HMU with any questions, comments, or requests at peteseazle@gmail.com.

Thanks and happy stitching!

White vs Black Aida Cloth October 08 2015, 0 Comments

I've been a big fan of black Aida cloth since my early days of designing cross stitch patterns. I love the contrast of darkness against the vibrant colors of the floss. By removing the darker colors from pictures I intentionally make darker, my patterns make use of negative space in what I've come to call "minimalism". I'm not sure if this is an appropriate use of the word or not, but that's what I'm going with.

Over the last couple of years, I've had the occasional comment that perhaps too many of my offerings utilize black cloth and this technique. It's just recently come to mind that this may be a reason my sales are a little lighter than I thought they would be at this point in my crafting career.

That said, while not abandoning a style I've come to call my own, I realize that my product line needs a bit more diversity. I've already begun adding patterns on white Aida cloth and will continue to build my inventory in this fashion.

Of course, with over 400 patterns for sale in my store, a majority on black cloth, the ratio of white to black may not seem too apparent right away. Give it time and I'm sure you'll start to see the change as well.

As always, if there are patterns or subject matter you'd like to see in my store, white or black, please don't hesitate to contact me at peteseazle@gmail.com.

Thank you for your patronage and happy stitching!

Brgds,

Pete Seazle
